It Comes Down to Love

Mark 12:29-31 is the summary of all the laws that God has given us in life, and all the words of every Preacher who has ever been sent down on Earth, every Prophet, are all summed up in the following: “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these." ...

Telling Yourself the Truth

We must tell ourselves the truth. The world will tell you that you are overweight from eating the wrong foods, that it is genetic, that it is your hormones or a metabolism problem. This is not true. Jesus drew a great word picture for us..

Beautiful, Loving Conviction from the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a free gift given to those who obey, [Acts 5:32] but it is worth billions—it spares us from many shameful, destructive behaviors. In a word, the convicting feeling of the Holy Spirit has been our only salvation. I crave it and cannot imagine life without it...
